    Default Diy transducer pole mounting

    I will be mounting a mega live transducer pole to my boat using pvc. for those who have done this, is everyone using the C size or D size RAM mount? And can a ram mount be purchased with the 2x5 mounting plate instead of the drill down round base plate.

    I can’t help you with your size question but here is a link to RAM so you can see if there is something that you can use. Are you wanting the mounting plate to extend out over the side of your boat?

    I used size C but I’m in a kayak. I also used the hose clamp mount around my pvc. I browsed the site above to pick out my mounts then ordered from best deal online once I knew what I was searching for. Maybe size chart will help.

    I use the D size just cause that’s what I started with for 7, 9, and 10 inch birds. Never had vibration or problems even with longer arms. Other sizes will probably work.
    I’ve actually got a D size in 5 inch that I’m trying to draw up a plan for my ducer pole.

    I was looking for a rectangle mount for the gunnel since it's 2.5 inches Wide. I have been checking O.C mounts, trying to build my own mount and I think I may just over kill and go with a size D. I'm looking at the 2x3 mount for the gunnel and the 2x5 mount for the pole side, using the medium arm. I would prefer the mount to be mounted to the deck but the gunnel rises 8 inches from the deck and don't think it will clear to deploy the pole. In case I'm forced to attach to the gunnel, I'll use the rectangle mount.

    And for the pole;

    RAM Mount Clamp Rail Mount Base RAM-D-271U-2

    Or:

    RAM Mount Clamp Rail Mount Base RAM-D-271U-12

    Depending on what diameter PVC pipe you use.

    Here’s my prototype on size D ram. Maybe not the best picture to see ram mount though.
