Live scope Question

I build my own 3’x3’ and 4’x4’stakebeds and even smaller concrete base beds and routinely catch fish off them off them in 20-30ft of water on Kentucky and Barkley Lakes in bigger winds than most of you guys even think about fishing in, no spot lock. The size of cover is completely irrelevant, you are dropping on one single fish if you are doing it right. Nobody that really knows what they are doing fishes from spot lock, sorry that’s just the truth.

Capps and Coleman are fantastic, greatest of all time no doubt , but how many tournaments have they won since Livescope came out?

It makes no difference to me how y’all want to fish but I do know a little about this game.

The whole original question was trolling motor or not.

The other part was someone else going on about spot lock being used. I replied to all the different responses, just picked one to quote.

The link is when I first posted about the project build.

This build uses a Terrova board which allows for the use of a foot pedal with the CoPilot fob.

If you use a power drive V2, just a CoPilot fob.

Additions since then was a Cisco slide mount for easy removal of the assmbly for towing or using the boat cover.

The edited video shows the Livescope mount tracking movement a little better and also shows a fish caught while I was holding a rod off to the side while filming.

Notice the Livescope head moves to stays pointed at the tree independent of the Terrova Tmotor turning to maintain the boats Spotlock position

The second system I put together was for a friend who guides with a pontoon boat and we used the standard V2 boat mount since he had the floor space for the full size mount.

Look at the Onboard shaft for your transducer. As others have said, when you mount it to your trolling motor and use spot lock you continuously lose sight of your target. If not using spot lock I’ve fished with several guys that have it mounted on their trolling motor fishing timber in a moderate wind and, while it worked fine every time your target is lost with the smallest adjustment of your trolling motor.

Mount on trolling motor is my answer!
First time i fished with a Livescope i thought it would be nice to have it mounted on a separate pole. Then i got in someone's boat that had a pole mounted transducer and i didn't like it. My style of fishing requires both hands and trying to turn transducer and reel/fish didn't work out. Next i tried motorized foot-controlled pole with transducer and that was impossible to operate standing up fishing. If you can hop in a few different boats and try their setup and see which way fits your style of fishing. There are Pros and Cons that go with each setup.

Exactly why I came up with the system in the video.
PIA to constantly adjust the Livescope view .

I needed something like the Ron Popeil chicken rotisserie cooker, so my hands are free.

Just "Set it and forget it"!!:Rofl

I tried it both ways. I didn't like the transducer on the trolling motor so I moved it back to its own mounting pole.

Both methods have pros and cons. For me it came down to personal preference.

To me the answer is about how you fish, what you primarily fish for as well as what you can afford. I have a Terrova and a limited budget.. I wanted ability to keep LS on target while spot locked so I chose to use a separate pole for LS that I made from PVC via YouTube (think i have 35$ into it). Do I want one of them nicely made ones, sure.. but I cannot afford dropping 300-400 bux on one.
