    Default Livescope transducer orientation

    Hey all, I’m new here.
Just bought the Garmin 93sv with LS32 transducer.
    In the process of installing.
My question is before I go out on the water id like to know exactly what orientation/positions the transducer should be in for Forward,Down & Perspective. I have no idea when in perspective mode how to orient the transducer so that it is showing forward on my screen. I can’t find any good clear information on this. Called Garmin & told them I was mounting on a stand alone pole with unlimited transducer positions on the starboard side. He told me exactly the opposite of what I have found researching online. Any help would be appreciated.

Go to YouTube and type in Livescope Transducer Position and you should find some very helpful videos. GL!

I’ve looked at many. None in my opinion actually help. They just show the Garmin perspective mount & the 3 positions. I’m using on a independent pole I made. I can’t seem to understand why they say the positions are different from port to starboard. What’s the difference just using an independent pole for ice fishing? No port or starboard there??

https://static.garmin.com/pumac/Pano...Install_EN.pdf, maybe this will help. Page 7 might clear up some of your question about orientation.

Mine is mounted on the trolling motor shaft, on the left side of the shaft (when TM is facing forward). That gives me forward view, which is all I use. Same would apply if mounted on a separate pole.

Perspective Mode requires the transducer to be mounted "sideways", but still having the front of the transducer facing forward. The software download is required so that the signal is displayed correctly, and you get the boat/ping scan icon to show you the direction/coverage area of the ping signal.

I believe the LS scan angle is 20deg when in forward, and 60+deg when in Perspective Mode. It basically takes the forward scan ping and turns it sideways to create a wider/thinner scan.

Forward view ... top of tdx is level
Down view ... top of tdx is clicked forward one click

Tutorial - Livescope Transducer Orientation - YouTube

Perspective view ... tdx is sideways & pointing "forward" (boat/scan icon shows direction of scan ping & area of coverage in relation to the boat's position)

Thanks for the info. Ill get it dialed in. I just like to get things figured out before I do the trial & error method.
