Thread: GPSMap Livscope Regrets?

Anyone running a GPSMap unit for their livescope display, and that's the only unit they have on the bow? I've got a buddy that runs only a GPSMap Livescope unit on the bow, and that seems to be the best bang for the budget-minded-buck, in terms of display size. Not sure what I'd miss not having traditional/DI/SI up front if I replaced it with livescope and no other sonar? I guess I don't know enough about the pro's and con's of running an EchoMap unit and a GPSmap to make an educated decision.

I have ran the search function a lot, and that left me with more questions, without reviving OLD threads just to try to harvest snippets of info from thread participants that may not be active anymore.

Edit: After further probing, it appears GPSmap is traditional sonar compatible. I should probably just pick up the phone and call someone, but I don't know all the questions I want to ask at once lol
