I really don’t see anything wrong with mounting. You might try turning it around. It could be picking up turbulence from that mounting bracket. Get it out in front of mount.

I’ll try to remember to go down to shop in the morning and take a picture of mine and see if there is any difference. If you think of it shot me a pm in the morning.
A little off topic but I have the same unit with transducer mounted on the transom and am having trouble with it loading my maps. I have lake master maps and when I turn my unit on it will not pull them up. The only I have found to get it to work is go into setting and change map source to unimap, wait a minute and the. Go back and change it to auto then it will finally load? Sometimes it takes several minutes anyone else have this problem? Not trying to hi jack your thread.

Here is how I have mine mounted
Looking at yours and mine, here is what I think I would try. Like Snubby said move it further up barrel of motor away from prop and maybe if you can find it wrap a piece of rubber around motor we’re bracket and clamp contact motor housing. I still say it turbulence from something.
Well i moved it as well as turned it around. It’s still doing the same thing. Attachment 367526
I’m gonna try using some thin rubber to insulate the bracket from the motor. The bracket they used to mount it does not look like what hummingbird shows on their website. If i can find it I’m gonna get the plastic bracket like you have. I don’t really care for that metal clip they used to mount mine.
