Garmin Livescope connection

I'm looking to purchase a GPSMAP 8610xsv and noticed in the product information that it does not require use of the "Black Box". Can I connect a Livescope transducer directly to this unit or do I still need the Livescope Black Box.
Any information would be helpful. Thanks

The LVS12 transducer(30 degree sonar $600) will connect directly to the unit.

The LVS32 transducer(135 degree sonar $1500) still needs the black box between the transducer and the MFD unit.

My guess would be that you would want the more expensive LVS32 system which requires the black box.

I've yet to see anyone say that they are happy with the lvs12.
