The wire that came in my boat was pitifully small for running a trolling motor.
I have 8 AWG on a Terrova 80 for just a short run (my batteries are up front) and they are warm sometimes after running wide open. I'd want at least 6 AWG if you were running to the back of the boat. You could try it but these modern TMs are very sensitive to voltage drop and it can be a fire hazard if there is not adequate circuit protection.
Consider moving the batteries up front, all that extra weight is often better up there and wiring becomes much simpler.
