    Default Ethernet not recognized

Helix 9 mega si gps chirp g2n connected to a helix 7 gps chirp g2n.
Have ran this setup since 6/18. Under network setup on the 7, just chose to get si, di, and 2d off of the 9.
Last time out the 7 was not recognizing the 9 and says no transducer connected. I’ve just checked wires and they ohm thru so not broken. What else could be wrong??????

I can’t find any settings on either unit to turn off network. Am I missing something????

Thank you Rickie. Oh my goodness! Just read post #12. That sounds exactly like my problem. I'll let you know shortly what I find.

Ok, I followed that procedure. Actually 2x.
I have IP address for both units but it will not recognize the main unit helix 9 from the back unit helix 5.
Also, the main unit is not finding the or showing the network tab. See pics

Main unit 9, has IP but not showing network tab

This is a long shot ...

*Remove map cards ...*Export Nav data to a SD card ...

*Format Nav Directories under the Setup tab ...
*Try the steps in the link again ...

Tried Formatting the nav directories in both units then the other default restores........, shut downs, reboots, etc.
Still no luck. Has IP addresses on both units but still no network tab on the master.

You got anything else to try? I'm assuming it's the 9 that's bad since it's not showing the network tab?

Try 1 more thing before calling HB ...:

Remove the ethernet cable and swap ends with it ...

    HB is 1-800-633-1468

Pulled cable and reversed end for end. Still no luck. Called HB. Explained all the procedures we have went through. They think it is the cable, so have a new one with 2 dongle adapters on the way. Said if that don't fix it, I'd have to send both units in. I'll update after trying new cable.

Thanks for all of your time and help Rickie.

if you have a buddy with a Humminbird unit that works well on Ethernet, you could try putting your units one at a time on his boat or testing your boat with his unit to try to isolate the problem.
