Thur hull transducer HB mega SI 8 anybody

Has any one tried this thru hull transducer (The Humminbird XPTH 9 20 MSI T MEGA Plastic Thru-Hull Transducer (710264-1) )Received my new mega 8 today and the transducer is 9.25 inches long. My Johnson motor will block about the last 3 inches on the port side of the boat, only other option I can think of is buying a jack plate. Not sure it will gain me the 6 inches I need. Not sure if the thur- hull will allow all the features of the mega SI to work also.

The thru hull MEGA has the same internal parts ... Just in a different housing ...
