    Default Hummingbird

Is the G3 that much better then the G2 to justify the extra $4-600?

I just went through the same thing, ended up buying the G2N but if I had to do over it would have been the G3N. After thinking about everything the G3N will be supported longer with updates, if Humminbird was to come out with a version of Livescope it would be closer to being compatible, increased power for better range and I've read better target separation in SI and DI and a year more warranty. I bought a G2N when it first came out and was using with older core units so I don't chase the latest greatest every year so I'm planning on using what I've got for years so over time the 500 more really isn't a lot more.

G3N has improved 2d rendering over previous models because of the better Low Q 2d piezo in the new G3N xducers ...

Also - G3N MEGA SI has better range than previous G2N MEGA SI ...

If those 2 items listed above are important to you then G3N is worth the extra $$ ...
    -----

And as Greenwing mentioned above G3N will be serviceable longer than G2N ...

PS ... There have been no leaks of Humminbird even thinking about a "Live" technology - but HB has surprised us before ...

    G3N has much better 2d than G2N ...

G3N MEGA SI can reach out farther to the sides without going dark than G2N MEGA SI ...

Thats the difference in G3N and G2N ...
