    Default Mounting a Helix 10"

    So I got a deal on a Helix 10 Mega SI GN2.

I don't like the factory mount cause it doesn't rotate. I call it yoke mount or bridle mount. Trunions

    like old artillery guns.

What are some options and websites I can look at.

    Thanks for yalls advice.

Thanks Mike, is it sturdy in bumpy water? Those look like they would shake lose.

I use the large Ram mount on a Helix 9 and it has never loosened. I tighten the snot out of it though. I've seen a special wrench used to tighten them online but I wrap a shop rag around the knob and snug with a pr of pliers.

I have a heavy ram mount on one of my Helix 12’s and a Cornfield Crappie mount on the other. The Cornfield is by far more stable. Here is the website. Give Mark a call. He will take care of you.

Racoon, no crank er down tight by hand is all she needs, you can loosen when you get to where you’re going and swivel for viewing from different location. I believe mine is the D size which is a huge 2”ball rated for well above the weight of Helix 10. I recommend if you use the Ram make sure whatever you mount to on your boat is solid. In my case the plastic console was sketchy in my opinion so I reinforced the bottom with 1/2” aluminum plate.

Here's one I fabbed up for my Helix10. I wanted to be able to view it while at the wheel and it swivels around so that it can be viewed from the frt deck seat.

Cornfieldcrappiegear make some of the best I have seen. They are not cheap but as the old saying goes you get what you pay for.

Hi-tek also makes a good mount. All aluminum and Scott is great to work with.
