Default Helix 10 sonar gps gone haywire

I have a helix 10 2d that has went bonkers, need some guidance. Yesterday morning it was working fine, then in the afternoon it got too where it wasn't picking up the bottom and the temp was reading real low, if I turned the motor to the left, it seemed to be ok. Using it on an ultrex with the universal sonar, at the end it don't matter which way the motor was pointed it still would not read right, any suggestions? Thanks

Is the unit acting up only when the TM is running ...??

Is there another Sonar unit running on the boat ...??

Would a low voltage situation cause this?

Low voltage is always suspect in gremlins in Sonar units ... (It may be a good idea to have the battery load tested) ...

But 1st try turning off everything in the boat except the affected unit and test ... If the issue goes away it's most likely Crosstalk interference from the other unit or some type of electrical interference from a separate 12v source somewhere (TM, bilge pump, motor charging system, etc) ...

Thanks Rickie, I'll try to track it down when I'm on the water next time.

I’ve had mine to do that a time or 2 and it was the cables in the back that wasn’t connected good . I had purchased the unit 2nd hand with out a connecter collector .finally got me a connecter Collecter . Problem solved .its the black plastic box that your cables goes into that snaps into the back of your unit that holds the cables securely. No problems since

Ok, here is what I have found, either the small adapter cable is bad, or I have a problem with the cable on the trolling motor itself going to the universal puck. Getting a new adapter cable first, think it's still under warranty as I can't see any cuts in it. Wish me luck.
