    I have a question for y’all

I have 1198. If I want to add 360, is my unit up to date enough to be the most efficient so to speak or would it be worth it to upgrade to a helix 12 for the 360?
The 360 will be trolling motor mounted.

Also. Will a helix 12 link with my older 1198 with just Ethernet cable like they are now.
Not interested in units sharing 360... just way points.

Yes they will link and the 1198 will work but won't be near as clear. 360 imaging is not as good as side imaging as far as being clear to start with so the Helix will help a good bit.

Your 1198 will run 360 without any issues, it's plenty "up to date". A Helix 12 would give you a BRIGHTER screen, and your other imaging (SI, DI, sonar) would be better, but it won't necessarily run 360 better.

Yes, a Helix 12 will link to your 1198 with an Ethernet cable, plus one dongle adapter (AS EC QDE) for the Helix 12 (1198 does not need an adapter) and will share way points; that said 360 connects via ethernet so remember, any time you have more than two ethernet items, you must use a 5 port Ethernet adapter. If you want to ethernet the 1198, a Helix, and a 360, you'll need the 5 port.
