Hook 2 Lowrance

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience yet with this unit and looking for opinions. I am looking at the Hook 2 9 triple shot.

I'm guessing the side imaging picture is clearer on the hb 12 mega than the hook 12? I can't find the khz for the hook unit to compare. The hook is $1000 cheaper so surely the ability to link isn't the only difference.
