Not a good idea imo. You can have interference with trolling motor and also when battery voltage drops on trolling batteries a lot of units shut off. I have always run to a different power supply than the trolling batteries with no issues

Im going to mount a Hook 7 on the bow. I REALLY don't wanna run power from main battery up there. My question is....if I tap in to TM power, will I get a lot of interference? If so how much? And is there a work around to reduce it?

Chad ... it's my intention to do the same with my new Hook 7, and I'm hoping for no TM interference. If this unit isn't especially different than my Elite 5DSI unit, then there shouldn't be any. My Elite 5DSI was hooked into the power supply of the TM (Motorguide 42# thrust) and I never had one bit of interference from the TM.
To Dwight's point ... yes, I did have that happen when using a 27 series battery to run the TM & the DSI unit, but only after that battery had just about run as long as it could (4+hrs of pushing jigs/cranks). Even then, the DSI unit colors would just "fade" ... right along with the TM's power. And, eventually (if I kept going) the DSI unit would turn off. All that did was prompt me to replace that battery (it was due time, anyway) ... and my replacement was a 29 series battery. After that .... no problems, so far.
Thanks. Im probably going to give it a try. The unit shutting off is the least of my worries. Running a MK Edge 55# TM with 2-29 series batteries. I can run hard for 8+ hours and go home at 12.4 volts. I guess it won't hurt to give it a shot and ouf there's interference then rewire.

Being an Edge may also be in your favor
You almost certainly get interference tapping into TM power. Even having the power cable for your unit close to the TM wires will cause interference.
Thanks for the replies guys, but as of this morning, I have made an executive decision. Im blowing my boat up with 5-10 lbs of tannerite. We will continue with rigging questions on a new boat, hopefully in March.
