Default Faulty depth reading Terrova US2 and Helix 9 G2 Sonar/GPS

I have a helix 9 G2 sonar/gps on my terrova. I am using the us2 transducer in the terrova. I have noticed that if I am in less than 10' of water, the depth reading often doubles. (Showing a false bottom. The digital read out is approximately twice that of the true depth.

When I get in to deeper water the image clears up and the digital read out is correct.

I have updated to the most current software on the Helix 9.

I received an email a reply/suggestions. When I went to the link it wasn't there. I suspect it was the duplicate post that I made that was deleted.

Also ..... if you don't have switchfire clear turned on, do so .... and if set the surface clutter to 6 or 7.

That is not really a faulty reading. It is a sign of a good unit. Lots of the folks like to use the double echos.

I don't know anything about the Helix, but I recognize the description you presented.
