Tracks or routes?

I know this is a very basic problem or issue but I can't get my head around it...i am wanting to set up routes on my helix 9. There are a few places on my home lake that can be hazardous. Want I need to do is to set up a route that will guide me they it...how do I go about setting this up? Thanks for any advice or help...

This is using waypoints that are already in the unit memory (working within the Waypoint Management Menu under the Nav tab) ...

If desired waypoints are not already in the unit memory - waypoints can be created on the Chart view (or with the Mark button while on the water) and then use the procedure above to create a future route ...
