Default Review of Helix SI off the water

I know you can save images and maybe even record SI on to a micro SD card with the Helix, but I planned to have my navionics chip in my SD slot. I guess I'll have to put in a blank or non lake map SD in the slot to save screen recordings eh?

I thought I read somewhere that you could potentially review recorded SI imagery and log waypoints on structure after the fact. Can anyone tell me if that is true or not?

Reading between the lines I take it that you have a Helix model that only has 1 card slot. If this is correct then yes you will have to use a blank card to record and take snapshots. They are several ways to review the recordings. 1 is watching it on the sonar unit itself and another is using Humviewer that can be down loaded to your computer to watch the play backs. They are others also but these two are the ones I have used. Also a ton of this information on youtube. Maybe this will a help to answer some of your questions.

In addition to scrat's good info above ...:

Yes you can mark Waypoints in the recording playback ...Both directly in the HB unit recording playback - or in Humviewer (which have to be ran thru HBPC before loading Humviewer Waypoints back into the HB head unit) ...

Don't try saving snapshots or Nav data to a map card as it may create problems with the unit. Map cards should be locked when used in the units to avoid writing files to them.
