Im having problems with my lowrance hds7 gen2. i installed everything myself off of what the manual said and a little bit of youtube advice. it came with 2 transducers, structure scan and sonar. the structure scan works great, im having problems with the sonar. it seems to work okay at an idle, but once i plane the boat out it beigns to give erratic reading, once you being to get over 25mph i lose the bottom and show no depth reading. i mounted the structure scan 12 to 14 " fromt the center of the prop, then the sonar 12" from the center of the other transducer ( this is what lowrance suggested in their manual). it seems to me like its a little too far out and once on plane the transducer is coming out of the water losing reading. any advise would be appreciated, i hate to keep knocking holes in the boat without solving the problem.![]()

You already have the best orientation of the 2d skimmer just a little higher than the LSS 2 (to allow the SI beam to pass under the 2d skimmer) ...
This means both xducers would need to be moved left toward the keel to get the 2d skimmer in the water more as the boat rises up on plane ... (You may need to trim that 1 bunk off to keep from hitting either xducer) ...
You also have the option of mounting the LSS 2 on the jackplate ...which would give the ability to move the 2d skimmer closer to the keel ...
Transducer Shield and Saver has brackets for jackplate installations ...
