Default Mounting side imaging on skeeter boat.

Going install new side imaging transducer on my dads skeeter bass boat and looking for the best place to mount it with no obstruction. Anyone have any advice?

For regular image scanning (SideVu/DownVu) anywhere that has no obstructions to either side would be fine ...

For depth reading at higher speed the xducer will have to be mounted so that the face of the xducer is slightly below the boat hull ...

Where you are holding the xducer should work ...

Thanks I appreciate the advice I was wondering if it would hit on the edges of the boat the way it tappers back. Is that side imaging you have mounted beside your motor?

    A. I don't think that's Rickie's boat and B. from the size of the "ducer in the pic I'd say that is a regular 2D 'ducer.

That is a stock photo we use to indicate the actual water flow from under a fiberglass hull on plane .....

Those small tapers on your hull on each side of the drain holes may or may not block some of the SI beams ...

I think the transom mounting bracket may orient the SideVu xduced rearward enough to miss those tapers ...

You might think about using a mounting board on your transom to serve 2 purposes (easier adjusting of the xducer if need be without drilling more holes in your transom...and it will move your SideVu xducer rearward the thickness of the mounting board to help miss those tapers) ...

Thanks for the tips man I appreciate it. Ended up picking a mounting board gonna mount it to that. Looks like it should give it enough clearance to make sure there's no interference with the side view
