Default Best Helix size for bow of 175 Tracker with 8 spider poles?

I have an older Hummingbird 597 ci HD at the helm. It works just fine, but Im wanting a Helix 7 or 9 with SI and move the 597 to the bow. But, the more I have thought about it, I spend the majority of the time on the bow and thought maybe I just need to put the new unit up front until I can replace the rear as well. I know the better unit should be at the helm for searching structure and unfamiliar lakes, but maybe not in my case with local lakes. Im thinking I may not have enough room for a 9" up front and considering a 7 since I can elevate it with a RAM mount and get it closer. My eyes aren't the best, so I want to get a big as I can, but also what I can afford.

    Thanks for any input

There is definite advantage to having the best unit at the station where you spend the majority of the fishing day ...

If looking at the HELIX 7 - it comes in 2 new models....

    *HELIX 7 G2 = 2d/DI/SI/GPS chartplotting ... No networking ...
    *HELIX 7 G2N = 2d/DI/SI/GPS chartplotting... Networking ...

If your future plans may involve linking multiple units to share technologies ...Look at the G2N models ...

HELIX 7 models do not have the new MEGA 1200kHz built in ... But the HELIX 7 G2N networked to a MEGA unit can display the MEGA Imaging from a HELIX MEGA capable unit ...

MEGA in the HELIX line is in the 9, 10, and 12 inch G2N models ...

I wish I had $3500 to burn on two mega 10" units. Im trying to sell myself on a 7" G2N for the front for now, but after seeing the mega units, its hard to say no to spending a little more and getting a 9" mega. I know the mega will actually help you find more fish with better certainty, but will it help you get more in the boat? Im thinking maybe so.

The Mega units are crazy good in picture details. Here are some great shots posted by users

'Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see:
The blind see and the lame walk; lepers are cleansed and deaf hear; dead are raised up and poor have the gospel preached to them.
And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me... Matthew 11:4-6

Those Mega Images are just insane!

I just put a mega 9 on the front of my 16 foot polar Kraft. Its about the same as a tracker 16. I also run eight poles out the front. T/M is center mounted. Its a bit tight but so far very worth it. I had a 898 on the bow but it went to the console. previously a 798 now its up front a DI unit. Some pics are on a post under Waypoints. I'll be out this coming week I'll take some more pics on the water.

Thanks Tahoe. Do post up some pics when you get a chance. I haven't seen any pics from the Mega 9 inch yet.

Thank you. I didn't know the 7 G2N would show the mega images linked from another mega unit. Does the 7 G2N have 800 mhz side image or just 450? OR is the 800mhz just for down images on the models less than 9 inches? Its kind of confusing with all these new and old models.

HELIX 7 G2N (Sonar, DI, or SI unit) will show 455kHz, 800kHz, and 1200kHz Mega from any of the 3 HELIX Mega SI units (9, 10, or 12) ...
