Need direction
I've read many, many archives related to this question but I think that has only served to confuse me further. I'm a weekend warrior but I'm setting up my boat throughout this year to step up my crappie game. I want to upgrade my electronics. I'm familiar and plan to stick w Lowrance. Here is what I want to accomplish, what is the most cost efffective way to do it?
1. 7 or 9 inch unit at console. I want this unit to have side and down imaging and of course gps and I want touch screen.
2. 7 inch unit at bow w/transducer on TM so I know what I am fishing directly over. I want this unit to have down imaging. Also touchscreen. DON'T need side imaging on the bow unit. DO need gps on bow unit.
That is the easy part, now the confusing part:
Connectivity:
1. I want the bow unit and console unit to share waypoints. For example if I'm scanning a new cove w side imaging at console and I mark several waypoints on console unit, I want to jump up front and be able to use bow unit to find and fish out those waypoints saved on the console unit. I want to do this without moving cards between units. Vice versa, if I find some good structure while at the bow and I mark those waypoints, I want to be able to see those waypoints on the console unit later.
2. I don't think I can do this w the Hook line. I'm not sure I can w the elite line. I'm sure I could w HDS, but don't really want to jump into that price tier.
no matter what I'm doing, I've got hunting or fishing on my mind...
