    Default Speed control

My kayak cuts the water at too high rate of speed for spider rigging,My trolling motor is an older model Minkota 5 speed.I stern mounted the motor, but relocated the control head to the left side of my seat.
That said,I can't bring myself to purchasing a new variable speed motor, and cutting its control head off .Has anyone tried or know of anyone who has tried a pulse width modulator ( PWM) to control the motor speeds?

There are a few videos on YouTube describing exactly what you are to do.
