Default Its that time! Need final opinions please.

This is what I want to do and quite frankly more than I can afford to do but please help me develop a parts list so I can pull the trigger and start arguing with the wife about my spending habits. Thanks.

    I want Humminbird only.
    I want 10 inch.
I want one unit only that I can move back and forth from the bow to the console.
I want 360 on the bow with a mount for my Terrova.
I want to be able to side scan from the console with out the TM in the water.

I mainly do 3 things. I push minnow rigs out the front (50 % of the time) . I pull cranks out the back (25%) and I back bounce/reverse troll for catfish(25% of the time) on the Mississippi out the back. Before I do either of these I like to side scan the areas I plan to fish from the console first.

I have a decent understanding of the main gear I need. Its the extra ducers, upgraded ducers, and networking gear that confuses me. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

You didn't say if you want 2d, DI, or SI ... the 2nd xducer at the bow will be determined by which technology you want 2d/DI/SI ...

    10" HB will be HELIX G1 (non-CHIRP) or HELIX G2N (CHIRP) ...

To have a 2nd station at the bow you will need a second power cable at the bow ...
    http://www.humminbird.com/Products/PC-11/

You will need a 2nd gimbal mount (or use Ram mount to move back and forth) ...
    http://www.humminbird.com/Products/GM-H910/

You will need the AS EC QDE to connect Ethernet to the HELIX (360 is an Ethernet accessory) ...
    http://www.humminbird.com/Products/AS-EC-QDE/

360 comes with a 20ft Ethernet cable to connect to the AS EC QDE at the head unit but you will have to decide if you want a 2nd Ethernet cable at the bow or stretch the existing cable across the deck when moving head unit to the 2nd station ...

If you decide to have an additional Ethernet cable at the bow - you will need the AS ETH 5PXG because that would sum 3 Ethernet devices (360 - station 1 Ethernet connection - station 2 Ethernet connection) ...
    http://www.humminbird.com/Products/AS-ETH-5PXG/

360 can only be attached to Terrova with 3rd party brackets ...

You will also need to make provisions for the bow xducer because the xducer cable cannot be connected to the Terrova shaft without modification ...

2d Sonar only can use the US2 in the Terrova (if the Terrova has US2) ...
DI or SI must have additional xducer at the bow ...

Wow! What a fast and thorough response. Thanks! To answer your question since I want the capability to side scan from the console I assume the bow mounted ducer needs to be SI? If that is correct then what part number is this bow mounted ducer? Also that means I will need to get either a Helix 10 Chirp SI GPS (Gen2 mega) or a Helix SI GPS (Gen1), correct?

    Couple of follow ups-

    1. For the bow position does my HElix 10 get all of its info from the 360 or does it get temp and 2d from the ducer in the Terrova? Will I get DI at the bow with this set up or will I need something else? In other words, at the bow position what all can be seen on the screen (temp, 2d, 360, DI, SI) and from what transducers will this info come from?

    2. When fishing out the rear I will want to see the info from the 360 from the console position and I will definitely ger the 2nd ethernet cable for this because I don't want wire laying on the deck. Similar to the question above, from the console position what all can be seen on the screen (temp, 2d, 360, DI, SI) and from what transducers will this info come from?

    3. Should I go gen 2 for this set up or gen 1?

Now that we have determined a 10" SI unit - the 2nd xducer at the bow will be determined by HELIX 10 SI G1 or HELIX 10 CHIRP Mega SI G2N ...

*HELIX 10 SI G1 would use XTM 9 HDSI 180 T ...(it is the HDSI xducer but comes with a TM bracket instead of a transom bracket) ...
    http://www.humminbird.com/Products/XTM-9-HDSI-180-T/

*HELIX 10 CHIRP Mega SI would use XTM 9 20 MSI T ...(it is the Mega SI xducer but comes with a TM bracket instead of transom bracket)
    http://www.humminbird.com/Products/XTM-9-20-MSI-T/

(Note: Your choice of HELIX G1 or G2N will come with transom mount xducer and mounting hardware) ...
    -----

With the HELIX connected to either station 1 or station 2 ...:

*2d/DI/SI/temp will come from the xducer connected to the head unit ...
*360 will come from the 360 accessory thru Ethernet ...
*Note: SI "can" come from the 360 when the Networking is selected for SI to come from the 360 - but the SI will be automatically shut off from the Connected xducer because the unit will not process SI from 2 sources at once ...
    -----

HELIX SI G1 vs HELIX CHIRP Mega SI G2N ...:

    *G2N has CHIRP (2d/DI/SI) ...
*G2N has Mega 1200kHz in addition to 455kHz/800kHz imaging ...
*G2N Mega SI xducer contains a dedicated DI piezo ..
*G2N will receive updates longer because it is current production ...

*G1 SI units utilize computer generated DI from data received from the SI piezoes (no DI piezo) ...
*G1 will be cheaper because of lack of items listed above ...
*G1 additional xducer (for the 2nd station) is also cheaper ...
    -----

You will still need to decide where to mount the front xducer (for the bow station) because US2 in Terrova will not do SI/DI ... and decide how to route the xducer cable ...

There is this option for xducer cable management on Terrova ...
    https://www.cornfieldcrappiegear.com...6-291dd06ad60e
    -----

And you will still need to decide how to get 360 on your boat (360 will not mount to Terrova) ...

There is the option of the transom mount 360 accessory ...
    http://www.humminbird.com/Products/AS-360SSI/

For bow mount 360 you will need a 3rd party bracket that separately mounts the 360 accessory not attached to Terrova ...

Hey Bushwhacker, I'm currently setting my Helix 10 SI up similar to that, using ram mount and just moving the unit from console to the bow. Rickie is definitely the go to guy when it comes to keeping this stuff all figured out! I am only running 1 transducer I have it mounted on it's own mounting down rod from fishingspecialties.com it's kinda like the one that Rickie offers at podunkideas.com. I actually like Rickie's better but did not have room for it to lay down when not in use. I am running the cable on top but since this is on a pontoon I have room to manage it and keep it out of the way. Later I plan to just add a 5PXG Ethernet switch along with a Mega DI unit dedicated to bow, but for now will have to get by with this solo set up.
