Used gen 2 price

I'm trying to update my electronics and have found lowrance 9" gen 2 with structure scan tducr . Is $700 a decent price if in good shape and how tech smart do you have to be to operate that unit. I am new to all advanced fishfinders.

I would say 600 max for that used unit. Just my opinion but used would be about half of a new unit. And new is a newer model.

As for ease of use. I would say with all the you tube videos and the units tutorial located on the main screen, they don't get much easier. My dad has one and he isn't tech savy.

I'm not a bird guy so I can't compare but I do know that I have played with them over and over and can't figure them out.

Another issue with buying used... lack of warranty. Everyone raves about the bird warranties however, if you read a lot of forums, by and large the vast majority of issues are from bird users. Is it because there are more of them? Is it because they sell a great warranty because of issues? I have not a clue. Just something I've noticed.

I wouldn't buy used in this case. Especially on a gen 2 touch unit that is priced more than half of a brand new upgraded gen 3 with more features.

I have 2 of these units and I don't think the learning curve is too bad. If you can use a smartphone the touch screen units are pretty intuitive. YouTube and the manual are your friend.

Just because the Gen2 is used wouldn't nessasary mean it's out of warranty. I know someone who just bought a new Gen2 Touch9 about a month ago and they come with a 2 year warranty.

If the unit comes with the bracket, screen cover, power cord, 2d transducer and the LSS2 transducer that sounds like a good price to me, just the LSS2 transducer sells for about $300.00 new.

Right now Gen 2 8's are going for 750.00 to 900.00. So if it has everything and new is not in your budget then it's not a bad price.
