I didn't get a total charge on the batteries last nite and went cranking this morning and 3 hrs. of trolling cranks the trolling motor would beep several times and decrease the speed and shut off completely. Then I would hit the hand held and increase the speed to 1.7 mph and it would beep and decrease the speed again. I hope your going to tell me that the MK V2 12 volt trolling motor will do this on weak batteries. Right?

Co pilot and with each beep it would make it would power down. And yes, It would beep four times do shut off. I would power up and click the hand held 4-5 times with it powering up and them unite I stopped, it would start on its own, powering down with each beep it made till it was off and prop wasn't moving. I could still steer with hand held. I am wondering if one of the rubber buttons on the handheld might have been stuck down??? Will check it out.
If one button is stuck, the others will not work. You can check this.

Probably low voltage. I wouldn't expect a 12 volt v2 to get more than 3 hours at 1.7 mph. Unless you have a very good group 31. Especially, if you are using the ipilot or copilot too.
Using co pilot and 2 batteries in series and have trolled max 7.5 hrs so far with new MK and still plenty of power left over, but didn't get a full charge on them over nite and grasping at straws as to why trolling motor would take over while on lake and power down and stop blade turning. Sometimes I would power up to the third setting on speed and when I did, as soon as it started moving forward, it would power down on its own and beep each time like I was pushing the hand held and it,would beep with each power down setting till stopping. Going to lake and get wet in rain storms this morning and run heck out of it with fully charged batteries and see if it does it again.
I've got one in the shed that was doing the same thing. It had gotten water in the foot and was drawing the battery down. I had the boat for sale and just bought a new motor and stored that one.
My thinking is the batteries finally wearing out as I had a full charge on them with a new on board 20 amp charger that works like a charm..and went fishing today. Not a thing out of that motor and the batteries were just about depleted after 5 hrs of hard cranking with bandits. I am getting 2 new ones asap. Motor ran fine so until it happens again,,I have no idea other than batteries finally giving out. thanks for all the replys and if it happens again will post.
What size deep cycle batterys are they ?.....how old ?
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.
