I just received my Hummingbird and need help in choosing the right chip. What would be your recommendation?

For Humminbird Navionics is the best IMO.

If you read your manual you will see there are a lot of things you can do with a Lakemaster Map Card that you CAN NOT do with a Navionics Map Card.

Lakemaster Map Card - Some Ky lakes were not on it ( Lake Cumberland ; Green river Lake ; Herrington Lake ). I looked up the latest version, or at least I think I did.

I contacted Hummingbird and they added the lakes for 2016 version, except Herrington.

Lake master may be more "editable" however this is the reason I recommend Navionics.

Thanks. Looks like I might go with the Lake master. One reason is that I'm going to upgrade the trolling motor to I pilot and the lake master is compatible with it.

Stretch the budget and get both ...

No map company surveys every inch of covered lakes ...the remaining data is interpolated from other sources ...paper maps, leased maps, software interpolation ...

I can find LakeMaster more accurate at one bay ... And the very next bay over Navionics will be more accurate ...

If one wants mapping customization for HB = it's LakeMaster ...

If one wants accurate maps for everywhere fished = It's Navionics and LakeMaster ...and learn where to use each ...
