Anybody have an idea what this is?

Nice cats for sure. Could it be Thermocline ? Sometimes with high setting a Thermocline with show on sonar.

Does the map show a submerged bridge ... ??

No sir. Just 1 ft contours showing a moderate drop, but nothing like what appeared on the sonar.

I watched Navionics map out part of Ky Lake (Paris). They just zip back and forth the lake at a good clip and annoy the crap out of people fishing. I believe the contours to be just an average relative to the passes across the lake. They don't cover all the lake parts.

What I see often locally, and have seen it this past week, is that late in the evening, the plankton starts rising off the bottom. It will give the appearance of a thermocline and the return is exactly like your reds, yellows, and greens rising off the bottom. I have seen it rise almost to the surface in 30 ft water.

The hard drop off is strange. If you counted it down with a sinker, and there was a difference, clearly there was a hole on the bottom. I've always thought the red returns were the harder returns.

In final explanation of my comments above, I don't have the slightest clue what it is, but it sure produced some nice fish.

Well, I returned to that spot in the morning also for a couple days and the return was the same. It was only in that 50-75 ft spot too. I did count it down with a sinker to confirm the drop. It showed up on downscan too but I didn't take a pic. Wish I woulda.

How's the water clarity? Good enough to drop a go pro camera on end of fishing line for a video? Worth a try. :cheers2

We actually talked about that, but I don't have a camera. The water was very clear. You could see your bait nearly 10 ft down. That spot is 5 hrs from my house so it's not feasible to go back now. Maybe next yr.
