    Default Humminbird 998

I'm having trouble with my 998 marking fish. I sent it off to HB in Jan for another problem and when it came back it don't mark many fish. I go to areas where my Helix 5 screen is loaded with fish and the 998 may mark 1 or 2 fish. I have talked to the tech people at HB and they have not given me any info that would change things. If anyone knows what my problem is and can tell me how to correct it please PM me or better yet call me at 804-337-7467.

    Thanks, Anchor Man

Have you tried swapping places with the two sonars to see if it is just the transducers making the difference or trying your sonar on someone else's boat that has the same type sonar.
Be safe and good luck fishing

No I haven't but that's a good idea, I'll try that next time out, thanks.

All of them, not marking fish.

I don't know what the fix would be but normally, when you send a unit in for repair they will update to the latest software version. I'm just wondering if that might have something to do with your issue. Think I would look at the settings on your Helix and try to duplicate those settings as close as possible. Check to see if maybe something new was added that you don't remember seeing before that is turned on and turn it off or just the opposite something new that is turned off try turning it on. Just some things I would check on my unit.
