    Default Networking humminbird and ulterra

I have an ulterra, 999, and 899 humminbird. I have the Ethernet switch and adapters. The problem is the adapter cables are only 2 feet long. I do have extension cables but when I hook the adapter to the head and the extension to the switch then that leaves me with 2 male ends. I have looked everywhere for an adapter to connect these. Is this setup possible or is there a reason this can't be done?

    thanks for any help.
    Jim

The AS EC QDE is hour glass shaped on 1 end to connect to the head unit and "male metal nut with male pins" on the other end ...

    -----

The Ethernet cable is "female knurled nut with female pin sockets" on both ends of the Ethernet cable ...

These ends of the Ethernet cable should connect directly to the AS EC QDE and the AS ETH 5PXG ...

I'm confused how you have 2 male ends ... ??

This is what I have. I guess this would be called a cable extension, which would go between the adapter and an Ethernet cable.

Could I use this cable between my ulterra and the AS ETH 5PXG to network with my heads?

Your cable is the AS ECX 30E extender cable ... Which is used when your standard Ethernet cable is not long enough ...

    Humminbird | AS ECX 30E

You are going to need a regular Ethernet cable in a length long enough for your application ... They come in 2ft, 10ft, 15ft, 20ft, and 30ft ...

Thanks got the humminbirds working together using the Ethernet cables. Now just waiting for some decent weather to get them working with the ulterra.
