    Default Running two transducers on the transom

    I have a Lowrance Elite 7 with down scan mounted near the console and have upgraded it to a Elite 7 TI Total Scan or side imaging. I was thinking about mounting the total scan transducer on the opposite side of the motor on the transom and run both units at the same time. I realize, I could/will get some interference but I could at least run navigation on my old unit instead of trashing it.....
    Any suggestions or experience with this type setup?

    Why don't you move the down scan to the bow? I run SI on console from a transom mounted transducer, and a DI from the bow with a TM mounted transducer, and I love it. If you don't want to put the transducer on the TM, Rickie makes a nice mount.

    And welcome to the site!

    I think the Lowrance units allow setting 1 unit on 83kHz and the other on 200kHz ... which should eliminate crosstalk ...

    Thanks for your reply;
    I already have a downscan on the TM just upgraded the one near the console. I have three now.... should I use two at the sterring wheel? This is what I am pondering....

    There is great benefit in having an entire screen for mapping where zooming in and out is not complicated by the map being on a split screen that 1st must "activate" the map side of the split screen before any changes can be made to the map view ...
