Looking to upgrade...looking at helix 7 or 899'si combo I know the 899 is being discontinued but have heard it has more features and will be supported for awhile. I'm a novice and not sure about the pros and cons of each. Thanks for any feedback

Both the SI and DI will be improved with the upgrade XHS 9 HDSI 180 T for the 899 ...

The DI in the HB SI units (except ONIX) is a computer generated image compiled from the Data received with the SI piezoes ...

Where would be a good place to see some photos/screenshots for comparsion purposes between the standard SI xducer and the HD version. I have a 899 HD SI with the standard xducer still in the box. HB CS told me the HD xducer upgrade would not improve the DI, only the SI function. LOL.

I can only assume the DI is better with the XHS 9 HDSI 180 T ...

The DI is still not going to be comparable to a dedicated DI unit ...because a dedicated DI piezo points straight down ... "DI from SI" piezoes (in the HB SI unit) points out to the side ...
