    Default Chart speed

Yes, I know you should vary chart speed with boat speed...what is the average speed you use on HB units?

Matching chart speed to boat speed is generally recommended to give the sharpest and most symmetrical image ........but I often push the chart speed up quite a bit to "open" up the cover. It is easier to see if there are fish in brush even though the image may be a little more blurry.

For me, software version made a difference on my 998. On the older versions, I would run chart speed faster than I do now. I can't remember ever getting, what I would consider good results, with the chart speed any lower than 3,while using my outboard or trolling motor. (with my Onix. It doesn't matter, 5 an all's well)
