Default Point 1 antenna and HDS gen 3?

Since the gen 3 units have the same update rate as the point 1 antenna, do you guys think it's worth the extra $200 to buy a point 1? The biggest advantage I can see to the point 1 is being able to know exactly how your boat is oriented in relation to whatever you're trying to fish at all times. Is that alone worth the extra cash?

I have a Point1 and its worth it's weight in gold to me.

I put it on the stern over my transducers and it improves accuracy when marking waypoints from my console unit. I use the heading sensor in it for both the console and the bow unit, I use the internal GPS on the bow unit and use the point1 for GPS on the console unit.

If you fish offshore brushpiles it great being able to know the position of the piles in relation to the boat heading. The map won't spin around when the boat drifts backwards.

I have Gen2 Touch9s at the bow and console. I also have an HDS7 non touch mounted in the dash that I use for mapping.

I have an HDI transducer on the trolling motor and a LSS2 and a 2d transducer on the stern. The Point1 is mounted over the rear transducers. All 3 units are linked by Ethernet and NMEA.

Point1 is a good tool. I select point 1 only in the gps device choices.

A+ on the Point One. Great for off shore structure fishing
