THAT WAS GOOD,I HAD SEEN SOMETHING LIKE THAT A FEW YEARS BACK,BUT IT IS A PROBLEM IF YOUR FAST SPEED 2D DUCER IS PART OF IT ,YOU WILL LOOSE BOTTOM AT ABOUT 10-15 MILES PER HOUR,I LOWER MINE AT THE BACK FOR FAST SPEED AND CANNOT SAY I CAN SEE ANY DIFFERENT,I THINK WE MAKE MOUNTAINS OUT OF MOLD HILLS TOO OFTEN EVENTHOUGH I LIKE HIS IDEA

Notice in James' video he even accounts for the small amount of transom lowering when the engine is engaged ...

This allowance (of the transom lowering during idle scanning) positions the SI xducer level at the same boat orientation in the water that the scanning is actually be utilized ...

I have to agree with Gene. With the humminbird HDSI transducer, lowering it down in the back helps your 2d,on plane readings. Other than that, for me, I can't tell were it matters a whole lot as long as there's nothing blocking the signal.
