Default Humminbird Helix 5 DI/GPS just Be AWARE

Hello, got my Helix 5 DI/GPS unit in the mail today. I was under the assumption that with the Humminbird transducer exchange program that I could send in the transducer and exchange for a trolling motor transducer for just the cost of the shipping. When contacting Humminbird today to set up the exchange I was told that it was a $60 upgrade fee for the trolling motor transducer. I guess it's my stupidity for not looking into this ahead of time. Just letting you guys know that if you want to run this unit on your trolling motor it's going to cost you an extra $60.

There is a less expensive way if you have not already pulled the trigger on the swap. If you google "Humminbird 7400871 AD XTM 9 Trolling Motor Adapter" you will find a mount to hang the transducer you got with your HB from the trolling motor. And about $20 or less.

Most of the transducers designed for the trolling motor have extra shielding ...... I'm not 100% sure if that's the case with this one or not.

Check Walmart online for that part. Think I paid about 12.00 for mine and no interference problem.
