Insight Genesis...does it really work?

Recently I posted some questions on the new Helix 5 SI/GPS and have become pretty set on it. However, with Christmas fast approaching I am seeing a lot of other deals pop up including some Lowrance units within my budget that offer this feature. I could see how it could be useful to me as I fish a couple smaller local lakes (1000 acres or less I would guess) which aren't mapped on cards such as Navionics. They are also flooding another small lake just a few miles from me starting this winter which won't be mapped.

I'm wondering how accurate it really is, how well it actually works, and how hard is it to do? There doesn't seem to be much info out there on it so it had me figuring it wasn't very popular.
