Default Hummingbird helix 5 DI GPS Model

Could anybody tell me if this is possible and if so what would I need?
I am on a budget and wonder if I can buy a transducer and power cord to use at the front of my boat. I would mount a transducer to trolling motor and possibly buy a power cord that's identical to the one that came with my unit and wire it up. I want to use my unit at the back of the boat for when I'm traveling to my location and once I get there just move the screen up front and plug in transducer and power cord....is this possible and if so could anybody tell me what transducer and power cord I would need to purchase?

I'm thinking with the Helix 5,that by the time you get set up to put the unit in 2 locations, you would be spending a big % of what another unit would cost.

It would be worth it to do this with some of the more expensive units, but probably not with the Helix 5.

If you move from one spot to the next very often you will soon tire of moving the unit and be careful of bending the pins in the connectors or wearing them out prematurely. Or risk dropping the unit.

Ok so if I decide to just buy another unit, could I use that transom mount transducer that comes with them on my trolling motor?

Usually once I get somewhere I don't move very often, lots of trouble to put away 8 rods then set back up and re bait again

The TM version for the Helix DI is the XTM 9 DI 25 T ...
    Humminbird | XTM 9 DI 25 T

It has extra shielding for possible RFI issues ...

For a second setup station ...You would also need the PC 11 power cord ...
    Humminbird | PC 11

And the Helix Gimbal bracket ...
    Humminbird | GM H5

Am with BobB by the time you buy another trans you will be close to the cost of another unit. The trans should work on the TM may need to buy a bracket to mount it. Who ever said fishing is a low cost sport, I would like to kick his a**.

If you buy another unit, Humminbird will exchange the transducer for the one Rickie mentioned above ...... Swap before opening transducer package.

Humminbird does sell a TM bracket that allows a transom style transducer to be mounted on a TM (AD STM 7 | Trolling Motor Hardware | 740006-3)
