Fish Finder Questions

Hello everyone first let me say this is not which is better. I have a Lowrance HDS 8 gen 2 along with a gen 1 LSS. I'm having trouble with the down scan. If I can't get it right I am going to make a change. I also have a Minn Kota Powerdrive V2 and I'm wanting to add the I pilot link. My question is the Lowrance HDS is the only Fishfinder I've ever used so it's all I know if I were to change to Humminbird how difficult would it be to learn and is there really that much difference in the way they both operate. One last question is there any way to transfer waypoints from one unit to the other. I can do a little on the computer but I'm no whiz. Thanks for the help.

I think the IPilot Link only works with HB units, but I'll let someone who knows the details answer that part. I have the I pilot and an HDS7 and HB Helix 5 but no Link. If you were wanting to just convert the V2 to IPilot I think you can swap the head and the remote to accomplish that.
