    Default No GPS Fix

I have a humminbird 998 SI. I usually use the map feature on there when it is foggy to stay in the channel. It use to have several different screens with map views. For some reason when I tried to use it the other morning all of the map pages were blank and when I pressed the go to button I think it was it said (No GPS Fix) what would cause it to no longer show the mapping but it still shows the Side imaging and everything else. It shows the on screen display for depth and tempature but also no longer shows the speed. I am assuming the depth finder itself is working fine but the gps part is messed up. Any suggestions?

998SI has a gps puck, is it possible that the cable has been damaged or maybe not connecting at the unit properly?? either one would cause "NO GPS FIX"

The HB units will not show map views, GPS speed, the NAV tab, the Chart tab, nor GPS fix when the unit is not recognizing the GPS antenna ...

Cycle thru the Views tab in the Main Menu System ... and make "Visible"'the "Accessory test" view ...

Then exit out of the Main Menu System and cycle thru the view button until you see the "Accessory Test" view ...

If it shows the GPS antenna as "Unconnected" ... Wiggle the cable like wannabe mentioned and see if you can get the unit to pick up the GPS antenna ...

If this doesn't work ... Dis-assemble the cable collector, remove the cables and plug them directly into the head unit and test again ...

If the GPS still shows "Unconnected" in the "Accessory Test" view ... Cross test another GPS antenna on your unit or your unit on another GPS antenna ...

If you don't have access to another GPS antenna ... Call HB ... 1-800-633-1468
