I just ordered one on line. Does anyone have one and how do you like it?

Just put one on my boat at the TM. It is 2D/GPS since I an using the I-Pilot transducer. Works really well. Only used it once but fine so far, which model did you get?

Just put the helix 5 di on console and only been out once but I liked what I saw

Thanks guys, I just bought the sonar only model, my 998 will handle all what ever I need as far as GPS and SI/ DI.

Don't mean to slam the Helix, but it sits beside my HDS touch 7 and the side by side comparison of the 2D is really telling. The Helix is fine, I have it set on my TM transducer and it also has GPS which I run when the TM is stowed. However if you compare the image of the Helix 2D with the HDS 2D, well it is apples and oranges. I think you will see the same thing with the 998, but I don't regret the purchase at all. For what it cost, it really does a good job and is an excellent back up for the HDS if it fails, plus I can run the HDS full screen sonar(it has SI and DI and 2D) and use the GPS on the Helix.
I have only used it once, just got it last week, so as I get more time with it, I am sure it will be fine. It actually replaced a HB385 combo which I had for 8 years. Just wanted a bigger screen for these old eyes.
