Default Rebuilding a trolling motor question

I am running a Terrova 80 pound TM that has been bulletproof for 3+ years and untold number of hours trolling. I know eventually it will wear to where it will need to be rebuilt/replaced. Since I have a basic knowledge of most things electrical, electronic and mechanical I am wondering if rebuilding such a lower unit is something that could/should be considered? I've poked around on Youtube but most info there is for very small MK units. Are the parts available as a kit and would it be advisable to replace the armature on such a rebuild?

Any links to video specific to the bigger motors like mine would be appreciated.

I have an 80lb Terrova that I just changed the shaft on. Mine was too short 45". Minn Kota sells all of the parts for a rebuild. I bought the seals, shaft, new wires , Coiled power cable and an extension cable for the Sonar 283.00. The hardest part was there is very little room for the wires to go up the shaft. I would do it again but would do away with the sonar as that cable takes up a lot of room and makes it a much harder job. Mine has been in use since early 2012. The brushes looked new every thing else was in good shape.

I just changed the armature (bent the shaft) on my 24v 70# Minnkota Maxxum. Got the brush/seal kit. Very easy to do.
