    Default Minn -Kota remote

Been having trouble with remote for my I-pilot. After I get going for a while trolling(motor is still running and speed is locked in) I will look down at remote and screen is blank. I will have to press on buttons hard to get it to light up. Have changed batteries and it still does it. Any suggestions?

Mine has always done that. Just figured it was a power saving mode. Have to push a button several times to get it to come back on.

I have never seen mine go blank until the motor was stowed. Mine is 3 years old, 12 volt Terrova I-Pilot. How old are yours?? Don't know if that was an added feature or not.

Mine is about 3 years old. I never thought to question if it was supposed to do it. It just does it and I punch a button 3/4 times and it comes back on. Never does it if I am using it regular just when it is on auto pilot for a while.

That is exactly the way mine does Cray. It didn't do it when I first got it. Maybe some one will figure this out.

I've had several of these come into the shop and I inspect the battery holder to ensure that the side pins are in contact with the battery but be careful as they break very easy. I then purchase from office depot a box of three ring binder hole reinforce stick on taps. The are round and white with a hole in them. I put three of these on top of the rubber attached to the battery door. This applies additional pressure to ensure that the battery stays connected.
(Have had the same problem with the Ulterra remote)
