Who has this unit and how do you like it?

Is the down image good, and the side image too?

I have the 999, both DI and SI are good. I have a 1198, they both do a remarkable job IMHO..

If you get the 899 do the tranducer upgrade, wish I had. Great units for the money, have a pair of them at the console.

I have the 899 SI, it comes with a compact ducer tho. The larger ducer that comes standard with the 999 and 1199 is much better and you can trade for it by sending in the smaller one, just don't open the smaller one or they won't except the trade. Wish I had done this.

I have the 899 and it has great sonar and GPS. SI is some the best, it's a great balance of screen size and pixels. DI is ok but a self dedicated DI would be better. The Ease of use that comes with Humminbird is the biggest plus. I do have the transducer upgrade, but do not see much of a benefit. I use the 455 most of the time. I can see bream beds easily in the 455, just have to play with contrast, sensitivity, sharpness and sometimes color. Mostly due to different hardness of lake bottoms.
