HDS 7 Gen 2 Touch questions

Good Morning everyone! Hope everyone is doing well and having good luck on the water! Just bought the HDS 7 touch unit yesterday along with the Motorguide Xi5 and the networking cables to connect the unit to the trolling motor. I will have this up by the drivers console and a HDS 5 Gen 2 up on the bow.

I have some questions that I am hoping some of you might know the answer to and please forgive me if these are repeat questions. First, on the HDS 7 touch, what do I need to do to save my "sonar log" so I can take it back to my computer in the evening to review the footage? Also, I had seen that with the HDS 7 Gen 2 touch, one no longer needs the actual structure scan module, only the transducer and it connects directly into the HDS unit itself? If that is the case, I already have a brand new Structure Scan setup in box that I got as a bundle deal when I bought the HDS 5 Gen 2 awhile back, do I still need to install the actual structure scan box or can I link up the HDS 5 to the 7 and still see the structure scan? once again I do apologize if these are repeat questions and/or don't make sense because of my wording. Trying to make sure I have all my ducks in a row before I start ripping into my boat tomorrow to install everything. Any help or assistance y'all might be able to provide would be greatly appreciated! Have a good day everyone!

To log your sonar, in the sonar page, hit menu, then select log sonar.

You can either plug the LSS transducer into the HDS7 and then look at it on both the 5 and 7 over Ethernet, install the LSS box and transducer and share that with both systems over Ethernet, or install 2 LSS transducers, one on the 7 and one on the LSS and share them both over the Ethernet. Depends on your preference. Personally I'd go with a transom mount displayed at the console first before putting a transducer on the TM, but your fishing may be different.

I use a 16gb sd card to log sonar to. When you go through the menu to log it should ask you where you want to save it, select the card instead of internal.

Yes you can hook the structure scan transducer directly to your 7T, then run an Ethernet cable to the 5.
