    Cool OBSOLETE HUMMINGBIRD

    Hello All,
I have an obsolete Hummingbird Model 100 SX that came on my Party Barge I bought used. I lost the transducer yesterday and was wondering where to buy another transducer or should I just get another unit. If so, what kind or model do I need for my 21" Sun Tracker Pontoon?? I have seen some used ones on the classifieds here but need some advise...Thanks, Michael

You can go either way here Michael.

To get a transducer that works with your 100SX you can use an XNT-9-20 transducer along with an AD-926 Transducer Adapter Cable.

Newer model sonar units have more features and a higher pixel count on the display which makes for a finer detailed sonar image. You could double the amount that you would put into the transducer and adapter cable and get a new color 5-inch color display sonar unit (HELIX 5 SONAR) or triple it and get a Sonar-GPS unit (HELIX 5 SONAR-GPS).

Thanks for the reply. I will consider all my options before purchasing.I will also invest in some type of protective shield for whatever I decide to buy...

probably get an updated locator as cheap as transducer. I wouldn't be surprised if you couldn't ask and get one free from a hand with a pulloff in the garage.

I am finding that out as I look for a transducer...might just get a new one...I found one used one on ebay but it was not "gently" used and a complete set up was in better shape and came with everything...at about the same price. Just don't like bidding for stuff...
