Will my Elite HDI power and transducer work on HDS units?

I currently am running the Elite 5HDI at the console but found what seems to be a steal on a HDS 7 Gen 2 with structure scan on cabelas website for $899 and thought it was a pretty good deal since it's the same price for just the unit itself without structure scan. Thought I read where the regular transducer is the same one for the HDS. Is this right? And also if that's right, does the power cable fit on the HDS as well? I know structure scan runs a power cable as well but was thinking if my existing cords will work it'll save me a whole lot of time. I had the dealer install the HDI unit on the boat when we bought the boat last spring but not sure how they ran the cable to the battery or the fuse box under the console. As long as this listing on cabelas website ain't a mistake, I'm thinking of running down to pick one up as long as they have one

If your Elite 5 has a blue connector on the power cable, then yes. Pretty sure the TD will interchange but you will need to mount the SS black box, power cord and Ethernet cable so you will probably have to dis-assemble part of the boat anyways.

Sweet. That's what I was hoping. I'm gonna call the local cabelas to see if they have any in stock. Kinda sounds too good to be true to me considering they have the HDS 8 Gen 2 with structure scan on sale for 1600

I swapped my Elite 7 HDI out for an HDS 7 Touchscreen. I was told that unit was the only one that would swap out using the Elite7 transducer. You might need to call Lowrance customer service and check. They swapped out my Elite 7 for the HDS touch due to a problem with the Elite processor. Of course I had to buy a side scan transducer once I realized the HDS had that capability also.
The HDS 7 touch went in the Elite mount and all the cables hooked up and I had 2D, DI and GPS functions. You have to run both transducers, on for the DI and 2d and one for the SSI, or I think you can run DI and SI from the SSI transducer but you have to have the other one if you want 2D.
By the way, I swapped out a 7 for a 7. You will probably need the DF mounting also, but I expect that comes with the unit. Lowrance only sent me the unit since everything else swapped out.
