    Default Garmin Electorinics opinions

Does anyone have any opinions on Garmin's fishfinders, GPS, DI, SI etc? Are there any owners out there? I'm in the market.

Looking at this also. Interested in the 9 inch viewing models with side vu and down vu. They also talk about 3d sonar imaging. Got about $1400 to spend and already have 998 and 858 but seriously considering Garmin

I just purchased a Garmin 93DV and a 73DV cant say how well they work haven't got them installed yet . Although I do have a older Garmin model like the 550c It was enough to make me sell of my 798 and 998 and jumped ship and go Garmin I have owned Humminbird since around 1990 the 2D in the Birds is crazy here lately the $300 Garmin was showing everything and on the Birds id have to switch to Max mode to see what the 550 was already showing Garmin is coming on strong lately and im impressed there Simple and just plain work without all the messing with settings .

Don't think I've quite got the cash flow to afford that kind of stuff. Quite the leap forward in technology though. You can track subs with that thing!

For me it trying to figure out the difference with the products Garmin has. They certainly look good and that 3D sonar is captivating for me.

Like the 94sv Model vs the 93sv.....even after reading I am not sure. But I am interested in the side and down view with 3D sonar. Somewhere i thought I read that some of them are wireless and made so you can pair them with you Gpad / Ipad for viewing? I think thats on the real spendy ones. But They are also talking about Panoptix Forward scanning sonar

With the Panoptix Down transducer, you can actually see fish and bait swimming around under your boat — in real time; even while stationary. You get 3 remarkable views: LiveVü Down, RealVü 3-D Down and RealVü 3-D Historical.LIVEVÜ DOWN
Provides real-time moving sonar images. You can see fish swimming toward or away from the boat. You can see small baitfish and large target fish swimming around, even your lure.REALVÜ 3-D DOWN
Allows your boat to be stationary and still see things in 3-D around your boat. It shows history of only 1 sweep.REALVÜ 3-D HISTORICAL
Used for finding fish while your boat is moving. This shows the entire water column you have passed over in 3-D, from the bottom of the surface and all of the fish in between.All-seeing is Believing
Garmin is the first to bring Panoptix sonar imaging to your boat. Panoptix all-seeing sonar is unlike anything you’ve ever seen on the water. It gives you the ability to see all around your boat in real-time. You can see fish in the water column in 3-D. You can also see your bait cast into the water and watch it as you reel it in. You can see fish swimming in front of or below your boat. You can even see them chase your lure. But to truly appreciate Panoptix, you have to see it. Transducer transom mounting kit included. *
