With network connected? Maybe give it a try with everything disconnected and in forced simulator mode.

I have nothing but the power cord hooked up. I will get the new cards and if that doesn't work can try the forced simulator mode. The bad thing there is nothing wrong with the bird except that i can't update it and need to to start adding the 360 and ultimately a Ulterra.
Can you video this from start to finish and post it or add to YouTube with link? Interesting.
I tried again today. I reformatted the card and down loaded the file. Still doesn't update. This is what is on the card after the attempted update. Attachment 185858Attachment 185859Attachment 185860Attachment 185861Attachment 185862
Is that bin file zipped ...??
I don't recall having to ever unzip a ".bin" ...

That file name has a (1) at the end of it. This usually means that there were 2 files in the same location and one of them got renamed.
I am not sure if the update cares about the (1) at the end, but you might try to rename the file and remove that to see if it makes any difference.
It is kinda strange that your computer thinks that is a zip file.
its a mac and it is just a quick look. I hope the card will make a difference but don't have lot of hope. I did format the card and download the file on a pc.
Are you downloading the bin file to the Mac ... And then transfer to the card ...??
Or are you downloading the bin file directly to the SD Card ...??
Maybe the Mac is doing something to the bin file that confuses the HB unit ...

One note, I am a mac guy and always download my update on the mac side. Never had a problem. However I realize I may have just been lucky!!
