Default SOME HELP ON TERROVA AND LOWRANCE COMPATABLITY

I have researched this a lot and think I have it right but if not please let me know. I am rigging up my new PONDTOON rig right now. I am putting a MinnKota Terrova 55# 12V with I pilot and US2 on it. I have an almost brand new Lowrance unit from my old boat I want to use up front. It is an Elite 7 HDI unit. If I have this right the HDI unit will not work right off the US2 unit. So I don't need the adapter to hook them together and I will have to rig the transducer that came with the Elite 7 HDI to the Terrova. Anyone have any thoughts on this? THANKS for any guidance I may receive !!!

If your unit is a DI only it will not work as the US-2 is 2d sonar only. If you unit is 2d and DI the 2d would be the only thing that would work hooked to the US-2. I'm not up to snuff on the Elite series so take this with a pound of salt. My advise is to call Brian at BBG Marine with your model numbers handy and pick his brain, he's a great guy that won't steer you wrong.

Zinger, with that HDI unit you will not be able to use the US2, so no adapter necessary. Next take your terrova and put the ducer cable in the slot on the shaft of motor. You need to check if it will fit all the way into the slot so motor can slide up and down through bracket if cable was installed into that slot. Humminbird cables will fit so you run cable up through head of unit and out to finder. Most of you Lowrance units cable is to fat for slot. I just haven't had my hands on your unit so have no idea on cable size. If that won't work next best thing is this.
da 'ducer apparatus - Podunk (po dungk) A small isolated town, region, or place that is regarded as unimportant. . . .
This is what CanePole installed on his Pondtoon for Lowrance transducers.

Lowrance makes a mount for the HDI ducer to the trolling motor. It is about $20.00

Made the big move! Got tired messing around. Decided for my type fishing I didn't need that much technology. Bought a MinnKota 55#, 12V, 42" Maxxum. Had a 70# on my old boat for 12 years and never had a problem. It is a very nice heavy duty unit and I can put the transducer for the Lowrance Elite 7 HDI on it just like I always did. Saved about $600 from what the Terrova and separate transducer holder would have cost me. I bet I can still catch a CRAPPIE!!!
